Our Grand Opening Attended by British Paralympian Gold Medalist!
Wednesday, 13 November 2024, marked a significant milestone for us at Floryn House Care Home in Kidlington as we celebrated our official opening. The event was graced by Naomi Riches MBE, British Paralympic Gold Medallist, who unveiled a commemorative plaque and cut the ribbon to formally open our beautiful new care home.
The day was a vibrant celebration attended by residents, their families, staff, healthcare professionals, and members of the local community. Our guests were treated to live entertainment, including a captivating flute performance by Jonty and a heartwarming singing and poetry recital by children from William Fletcher Primary School. Canapés and glasses of fizz were provided by our exceptional in-house kitchen team, whilst our visitors had the opportunity to explore our luxury facilities and amenities including a sensory room, beautiful private gardens, a cinema room and a café.
Since opening our doors in July 2024, Floryn House has become an integral part of the Kidlington community. We understand the importance of creating strong bonds with businesses and individuals local to us and are proud to be able to welcome them so they can join in with our exciting events. Our residents and team are looking forward to continuing to build connections with the local community over the upcoming months.
At our care home in Oxfordshire, we offer unrivalled levels of residential, dementia, nursing, and respite care for up to 73 residents and it has been thoughtfully designed to provide the perfect balance of support, companionship, and independent living. Our Home Manager Chelle Daly shared her excitement about the journey so far, expressing her pride in leading the dedicated team at Floryn House. “It has been so exciting seeing the development of the home and being part of the commissioning team. There was no greater moment than when we opened our doors in July and welcomed our first residents. The buzz around the home is infectious, with so much interest from residents, staff, and the local community. It’s been wonderful to forge new partnerships and ensure that our residents remain an active part of their local community.”
Naomi Riches MBE joined our residents in cutting a beautifully decorated cake to mark the occasion and spoke warmly about her experience. “Floryn House is a shining example of what a care home should be—welcoming, supportive, and deeply connected to its community. It was an honour to be part of such a special day.”
