Residents at Floryn House Care Home were proud to support Sobell House Hospice through the charity's "50 for 50" fundraising initiative, launched as part of Sobell House's 50th anniversary celebrations.

After coming together to discuss how they could get involved, residents decided to create 50 handmade keyrings to help raise funds. The project quickly became popular within the home, with everyone enjoying the opportunity to contribute their ideas and creativity to a meaningful cause.

Each keyring was carefully designed and crafted by residents, with a variety of colours and personal touches. The activity encouraged creativity, with residents taking great pride in their arts and crafts

Throughout the project, there was a real sense of purpose and achievement as residents worked towards their shared goal of completing all 50 keyrings in time for the anniversary celebrations.

On the day of Sobell House's 50th anniversary event, Activities Coordinator Colin visited Westgate Shopping Centre to sell the handmade keyrings and raise funds for the charity. During the event, he also had the opportunity to meet the Mayor of Oxford, who admired the residents' beautiful creations and the effort that had gone into the project.

The fundraiser provided residents with a meaningful way to give back to an organisation that supports so many people and families across the local community.

Taking part in fundraising initiatives can have a positive impact on residents' well-being, providing opportunities to connect with the wider community while contributing to an important cause. Activities like these encourage self-expression and a sense of purpose, while helping residents feel involved in something bigger.

The project also highlighted the generosity and community spirit that are at the heart of life at Floryn House.

Residents were delighted to support Sobell House's 50 for 50 campaign, and their hard work and generosity helped make the initiative a great success. Everyone involved was proud to play a part in celebrating Sobell House's remarkable 50-year legacy while raising valuable funds for the charity.
