Love Blooms at Floryn House this Valentine’s Day
Love was in the air at Floryn House as residents and staff came together to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a truly special way. The home was filled with warmth, laughter, and heartfelt moments as we marked the occasion with thoughtful touches and meaningful conversations.
Beautiful red roses and tulips were carefully arranged around the home, creating a romantic and uplifting atmosphere for everyone to enjoy whilst residents and staff dressed in red to symbolise love and togetherness.
For two of our resident couples, Terry and Diane, and Annette and Peter, the celebrations were even more special. We transformed the heart of the home into an intimate dining space where they could enjoy a private Valentine’s meal together. It was a beautiful setting, made even more touching by the love and devotion these couples share.
When asked about their secret to a happy marriage, Annette shared that she and Peter have always faced life’s challenges together, discussing everything as a team. “Peter has always been such a kind man and really looked after me throughout our life. This made it very easy to love him unconditionally,” she said. Peter simply added, “When you meet the love of your life, you’ll understand—you never want to let them go.”
Terry, too, had wise words about lasting love. “I always loved to dance and sing with Diane, and this made her smile—sometimes even laugh! As long as you have love within, you will always find a way.”
The afternoon was spent reminiscing about weddings and all the joy that comes with them—from choosing the perfect dress to planning the big day. Residents and staff also shared their best relationship advice for the younger generation which sparked warm and lively discussions lasting the whole day.
The purpose of the day was simple yet powerful—to remind every resident how loved they are here at Floryn House by us and their family and friends. Even for those who have lost a partner, Valentine’s Day is a time to cherish the love of family, friends, and the caring community around them.
It was a truly special celebration, bringing joy not just to our wonderful couples but to all residents and staff alike.
