Kicking Off The Festive Season With Our Christmas Fayre

On Saturday, 30th November, Floryn House came alive with festive cheer as residents, staff, families, and friends gathered for our very first Christmas Fayre. The event was a true celebration of community spirit and the season's joy, creating lasting memories for all who attended.

The day featured a host of delightful activities. Santa, Mrs Claus, and their team of elves made a special appearance and welcomed residents and children into a magical outdoor grotto where gifts were shared. Alongside our fayre, we had a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and our local vicar, Oliver, offered a special blessing before we turned on the twinkling lights and embraced the Christmas magic.

We made sure to put the fun day to a good cause and hosted various fundraising activities to support the Make a Wish Foundation and our residents’ fund. We offered several games and stalls including a tombola, a water and wine stall and a sweet stall. Outdoor vendors joined us to truly bring the Christmas experience to life for our residents and visitors.

In preparation for our fayre, our residents worked together to bake delicious shortbread biscuits served with tea and coffee throughout the day. The festivities ended on a high note with a live band performing traditional Christmas carols, where residents and guests joined in with song sheets provided by the team. The feeling of community shone throughout Floryn House and was felt by all.

Residents had a brilliant day, particularly enjoying shopping for gifts for their loved ones without leaving the comfort of Floryn House as well as being able to catch up with those closest to them. We believe that our residents should be able to continue participating in Christmas traditions and get involved in the magic no matter their care needs. Our expert and compassionate team always go the extra mile to ensure they live the life they deserve.

We are thrilled to announce that the Fayre raised an impressive £276, which will be split evenly between the Make a Wish Foundation and Floryn House’s Activities Department. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who supported the event—whether by attending, volunteering or simply spreading the word.

At Floryn House, we cherish opportunities like this to bring everyone together and celebrate what truly matters: love, connection, and a strong sense of community. We can’t wait to do it all again next year, and are excited to see what the rest of December holds for us!
